I’m an immigrant myself. I came here to the United States willingly. I was fortunate enough that my parents are naturalized citizens, and so consequently my own naturalization was not much of a problem really.
These kids, on the other hand, were here because they had no other choice. Their parents brought them here at a tender age whence they could not even voice their own opinions. Not only that, but they are undocumented. But the funny thing is, these kids work just as hard as anybody else maybe even more, and the only thing that keeps them from walking freely like the rest of us are these nine digits.
Yes, President Obama has issued an executive order about this particular immigration issue but it is only a temporary solution. It takes a Congress to create a long-term solution. Well, at least for now, it looks like our country is headed in the right direction in helping these kids.
